Optimo celebrate NYE 2021 in person and from your living room
Whilst England “boldly” ploughs forward with its lockdown-not-lockdown New Year plans, spare a thought for the other devolved governments of Scotland, Wales and NI and a massive part of the rest of the world who have closed club spaces again. Given the restrictions, Optimo had to cancel their Hogmanay party due to the “impending tsunami” of Omicron and make other plans.
“We, therefore, find ourselves right back in the less than desirable position we were in at Hogmanay 2020 and have decided to once again do our party as a streaming event.
Yeah, we know, streaming club nights generally totally suck, right? Of course, nothing can be a substitute for the real thing but our NYE live stream last year did actually bring quite a lot of joy to a lot of people so it feels like this is the one night of the year when something like this that can bring people together and is therefore worth doing.
The event will be live-streamed from Room 2 in Glasgow where their party was meant to happen, and with (literally) decades of experience of doing Hogmanay parties they’ll “try to imagine it is “going off” in front of us and play accordingly.”
“If you find yourself stuck at home please do feel free to join us from 11pm – 4am UK time. Get your speakers primed and warn the neighbours.”
Tickets are available to view from your living room here.
