This Week… Hotline Bling – the Boris Edition!
So let’s get straight to it then. This week it was discovered that bumbling Boris, our Prime Minister, had been using the same mobile phone number for a couple of decades. This in itself is not a problem except for the fact that said number had been publicly available and published by himself in a press release free to all on the internet for over fifteen years….
I could have added a whole lot more parenthesis to the end of that sentence. For real though? Imagine becoming Prime Minister and reckoning it’s safe and sound to keep your old phone number, just in case a couple of old mates ping you a text to ask for a game of 5 a side from time to time y’know. Also, what have the security services been doing for the past fifteen odd years not to have spotted that? Surely that’s some pretty entry level ‘MI6’ stuff – aka ensuring that the phone number of the PM isn’t free to find with a quickie Google search.
You’ve got to laugh… Apparently it’s been changed now or at least deactivated. I personally gave him a ring to see if he fancied a game of 5 a side on the weekend, shame he didn’t pick up. He must of been too busy decorating his flat…
Meanwhile Apple and Facebook have been locked in a legal standoff following the announcement that the new iOS software will prevent Facebook from stalking as much of your every move via third party apps. This is a good thing for those of us who value our privacy and a bad thing for those who like to buy pointless crap from wish.com. Be advised if you do visit the above wish.com URL you will be tied to them for the rest of your life like a dodgy ex with bad breath and a deameaning sense of humour who refuses to stop hanging round your local. You’ve been warned…
There’s a chill in the air as I type this, it ain’t quite summer yet but if you fancy coming to join us in Manchester this weekend to sit outdoors in the cold whilst we play some tunes, well then please do. We’ll be at Ducie Street Warehouse this Saturday and Sunday. Buy us a pint or a rain coat please…
Here’s the internet…
