Ransom Note to host live conversation with Frank Wiedemann & KEOPE
Frank Widemann's record label Bigamo Musik has grown from strength to strength across the past few years, the imprint has acted as an outlet by which he can release left of centre electronic music with instrumentation and experimentation at the forefront. Perhaps better known as one half of the inimitable duo Âme, Frank has a wealth of experience across the breadth of the music industry both as a musician, label boss, curator and beyond. He remains a key figure as one of the co founders of Innervisions and this year he was due to host his own festival alongside RY X of Howling. Sacred Ground Festival has since been put on hold as a result of Covid-19.
KEOPE are a duo who have appeared prominently on Bigamo Musik having become one of the key groups to release on the record label. They have released numerous records via the imprint and draw upon a unique and singular assortment of influences. They often record their music long form: in the sense that what they release often stems from a one off live jam comprised of multiple instruments and a tonality which can be attached to only the present moment in which it was recorded.
Tomorrow afternoon Ransom Note will host a conversation between the two parties, offering insight into what it takes to run a independent label and release independently in this day and age. We will discuss the limitations and restraints placed upon the industry in respect of both Frank and KEOPE's circumstances as a result of Covid-19. We will talk next steps surrounding the future of electronic music, environmental change, online collaboration and the reevaluation of our own impact.
This will be available on both Youtube & Facebook tomorrow, 29th April, at 15:00 BST via the following pages: Innervisions, Bigamo Musik, Âme, Ransom Note & Muting The Noise.
Brought to you by Ransom Note, Eventcube, Bigamo Musik & Xander Agency.
In the meantime, here's an exclusive first look at a new mini documentary on KEOPE:
