Massive Attack announce 2019 Anniversary Tour ‘Mezzanine XX1’
Massive Attack are going back on the road with their iconic 1998 album ‘Mezzanine’ across Europe and North America, starting in January 2019, with Liz Fraser of Cocteau Twins and more collaborators being announced in the near future. The unforgettable trip-hop album will be reconceptualised in an audiovisual production format.
The duo’s 21st anniversary tour will incorporate stage design from their own Robert Del Naja as well as the collaboration with Cocteau Twins’ Liz Fraser, and more to be announced soon. The tour will be “using custom audio reconstructed from their original samples and influences” and is “…going to be a one off piece of work; our own personalised nostalgia nightmare head trip” according to Del Naja.
Massive Attack will be releasing a remastered version of ‘Mezzanine’ to celebrate its anniversary in November.
European tour dates can be found on Massive Attack’s website. Specific North American dates will be announced on November 2nd, cities include: Washington, Philadelphia, New York, Boston, Toronto, Detroit, Chicago, Saint Paul, San Francisco, Los Angeles and San Diego.
Presale tickets for selected shows: 31st October at 10am. General Sale: 2nd November at 10am.
