Musicians and acts set to perform include  A Certain Ratio, Jaako Eino Kalevi, James K, Mary Ocher, The KVB, Zebra Katz, Priya Ragu and more.

This is all interwoven between numerous talks, performances and more.

We have carefully picked out some key highlights not to be missed at this years edition.

A Certain Ratio

Manchester post punk icons A Certain Ratio are one of the last pioneering groups of the era. Rooted in the culture of the city during the 70’s and 80’s the group has evolved with age, reimagining itself and remodelling its sound. That being said, the same principles and ethos remain intact.

  • Black Sherif

Hotly tipped as one of the best of a new wave of rappers and musicians from Ghana, Black Sherif has been receiving props from the likes of Burna Boy amongst others. He will perform as part of an African focus at this years event.

  • James K

Berlin based musician and visual artist James K has been dancing between the realms of ethereal underground ambient music and futuristic pop. Originally from New York, releases have been prominent on the likes of Incienso and AD93.

  • Zebra Katz

A familiar artist to some, yet new and fresh faced to others. Zebra Katz rode the wave of bass music culture with the iconic ‘Ima Read’ back in 2012 setting a precedent for spoken word which drew upon the roots and influences of ballroom culture in NYC and beyond. Things haven’t slowed down since.

  • Mary Ocher

Outspoken and unapologetic – Mary Ocher is a musician, poet, director and visual artist with spirit. An artist we have spotlighted prominently at Ransom Note previously and one who shares a similar ethos as she attempts to dismantle and challenge power structures.
