Oliver Cherer, Robin Saville & Glen Johnson At Cafe Oto
Fancy going out to watch some live music on Friday night but can't quite decide what you fancy? Not a problem. Second Language have got several bases covered as they bring together Oliver Cherer, Robin Saville and Glen Johnson to Cafe Oto.
If you're looking for more of a folk twinge than Oliver Cherer is your man, he brings an attractive blend of organic instrumentation, unsettling electronic soundscapes and tender, intimate harmonies to the fray. Glen Johnson, not the Liverpool right back, is the founder and only surviving original member of the London-based 'ghost rock' group, Piano Magic. With experience in full-blown post-rock, isolationist electronica and pastoral psych-folk, this will be Johnson's first ever solo show.
For us, however, the big attraction of the night is Robin Saville who will be bringing some exquisite electronics to Dalston. As one half of electronic luminaries Isan for over fifteen years, Saville has earned quite a reputation for bringing an emotional dimension to his music. His new solo album, 'Public Flowers', is about creating a series of soundscapes both familiar and stimulating and we think it's well worth a listen.
Second Language Music Presents: Oliver Cherer, Robin Saville and Glen Johnson on Friday 29th August, for tickets and more information click here.
