On 4th February 2012 UNIFUNK launches 'Music 4 Life', bringing London's finest talent from music and the arts together to support Cancer Research’s vital work into the disease.
 

‘The Secret Larder’ will be hosting their pop up restaurant at The Islington Metal Works between 7pm and midnight in aid of Cancer Research UK.

??The response to this event from the artists, presenters, companies and production volunteers has been phenomenal.

Expect the evening to be filled with some of the UK's biggest established DJs, Producers, Artists and upcoming Artists, all in aid of giving.

Some of the artists performing are Steve Sutherland (4 time MOBO winner of Best club and radio DJ), Nathan Flutebox and the Clinic, DJ Krust (Full Cycle), Phil Asher(Restless Soul), Martin Lodge (Restless Soul), Marcia Carr (The Ladyz), Femi Fem (Young Disciples/Supperclub), Asheber and the Afrikan Revolution, Segunda Geracao, Chico ‘Dirty Cheeks (Cirq du Soir)’

Consuela Mckenzie and Shahla Karkouti, UNIFUNK founders, have jointly spent almost 30 years in music and the arts industries in the UK, Los Angeles (USA), Europe, The Middle-east and South America. They are both currently immersed in the UK music scene and produce regular nights presenting a wide range of dance and live music. With artistic backgrounds, they have always aimed to put artists at the forefront.

 

“Being a musician myself and as a regular events producer, I’m constantly on the scene putting on a wide array of nights from world music live events to warehouse parties with my team of like minded promoters. Being back in London Consuela and I were both inspired in bringing ethical music events to life.”

They work in partnership with national and international renowned talent, private individuals, organisations and worldwide charities and share a commitment with Walk Talkin Entertainment their US partner to making music, the arts and select information more accessible worldwide.

Inspired by Thanksgivends an annual giving event in Los Angeles which international artists and some of the best DJs, producers, promoters and industry volunteers come together to benefit charities from the arts.

Chrome and Black in London’s trendy Shorditch and new shop in Brighton will be donating their artistic skill to the event adding to the alternative ambiance. Also supporting the event are Ned’s Noodles and Princesse d’Isenbourg et Cie.

The night will be filled with the essence of giving, amazing music, merging London’s alternative scene and people into a contemporary fusion. We look forward to having you there to join in the experience and to help us celebrate and continue to support Cancer Research UKs ground breaking efforts.
