John Carpenter To Play First Ever Live Show At Atp Iceland
Horror legend John Carpenter is due to play his first ever live show at ATP Iceland in 2016. Carpenter is famed for creating a wealth of classic synth scores including Halloween, Escape From New York, They Live, Assault on Precinct 13 and many, many more. In February 2015, Carpenter released his first solo record of non-soundtrack music, Lost Themes,on Sacred Bones Records, proving emphatically that he doesn't need a film to inspire his musical gold.
At ATP – taking place in a former NATO base in Keflavík, Iceland on July 1st-3rd- Carpenter will be playing a selection of his back catalogue alongside tracks from Lost Themes. ATP organiser Barry Hogan had the following to say: “We are incredibly honoured to present the first ever show by this legendary film-maker and composer. Having had the opportunity to present the maestro Ennio Morricone twice in recent years, it has been a burning ambition of ours to also present John Carpenter, who is both a pioneer and a huge influence on us and so many great musicians and film-makers that we work with. You'd be fucking crazy to miss this.”
We're inclined to agree. Tickets from over here.
