Here’s What’s Coming Up At Ransom Note Records This Fortnight
We've got some great instores coming up over the next fortnight at our shop in Forest Gate! Full details of all four events below. As usual, we'll be serving fresh coffee and beer on tap courtesy of The Pretty Decent Beer Co.
Sat 28th April – Not An Animal
Not An Animal Records will be making a mess/noise in Forest Gate this Saturday! Alongside Andy Bainbridge & Chris Stoker, additional entertainment will be provided by Wayne Holland who'll be coming down to play a few records. As ever Andy will be answering questions on home improvements at the end… even if no one asks any.
SBEDITZ are back, and this time they've brought some new friends along for another tasty range of Disco cuts. A 4 track EP of summer edits from Jad&The, Swales, Tender Games and Slothboogie themselves. Limited to 300 pressings, what better way to celebrate its birth than sipping a can within the surroundings of our Forest Gate wax emporium? Cruise the crates with a special Slothboogie Sunday soundtrack before, during, or after your lunch and pick up an advance copy if you're quick…
The first of our Diggers Day Out events. Over the course of the day, the Dig A Little DJs and guests will be dropping tunes on the decks while there'll be locally brewed beers on hand to keep us merry. If disco, house or soul is your thing, this is definitely an event not to miss! We hope you can join us for a dig or two, and look forward to supplying you with your next favourite record.
NYC.XTC returns with a two-part Bank Holiday XTC Garage Special – and it's all FREE! Kicking things off at midday, NYC.XTC will be taking over Ransom Note Records for a Day Party. The sun will be shining, so expect swirling dubs, dreamy vocals, ethereal strings, emotional basslines and thumpin’ beats as the XTC Garage All-Stars dig deep and avoid the obvious, to share serotonin-releasing obscurities to make you move. Weather allowing, we might have a BBQ too! And when we finish, there’s a FREE after party in Hackney’s hottest new venue, The Glove That Fits.
