This Week in Wycliffe, exam reform, Bagpuss and peeing in pools.
"Exam reform will destroy UK's creative economy"
"The idea that art will somehow look after itself – that society will breed untaught geniuses – is rubbish. We'll end up with a cultural sector even more skewed towards the privately educated. A bit like what has happened to politics. Enough said." Grayson Perry`Good article about exam reform by Mr Perry.
"Before you judge others or claim any absolute truth, consider that you can see less than 1% of the electromagnetic spectrum and hear less than 1% of the acoustic spectrum." Anonymous – read in full below.
"Aid is the past and trade is the future." UK to end financial aid to India by 2015
"Many of us have spent time beside a pool. And you have probably wondered: what are the odds that no children (or adults, for that matter) have peed in the water? When pressed, we'd have to admit that the odds that the pool is pee-free are close to zero, but the lack of absolute certainty allows us to relax and swim anyway… Ignorance may be bliss but it only takes a speck of reality to ruin it." You need to read the rest for the context but Dan Ariely – What kids peeing in pools can teach us about bankers in this month's Wired is well worth a read. Cleverly on their behalf there's no link up online!
When I got my cat from the rescue home he was called Bagpuss… maybe the previous owner had such a dry sense of humour it went completely over my head. I doubt it. Calling a black cat Baguss in my book does not equate to a well-named cat. I think one could almost say that as cat's are such 'complex creatures' (the vet's words not mine) it could almost lead to an identity crisis…
I think I'm going through somewhat of an identity crisis too. Having flu for 4 1/2 weeks does that to you I think. I'm forgetting what or who I actually am.
Anyway, mindspill over, swtich back into random mode; it's been quite a week hasn't it?
Obama back in, a new archbishop, Conservative peers and their alleged 'historical child abuse' (very odd phrase) and South Korea's Toilet Theme Park
Nice work mate… Wycliffe mate, Wycliffe.
Hans Rosling: Religions and babies… very interesting.
Have a listen to the new FACT Nathan Fake mix while we're on here eh… super good.
Did you know you can see the International Space Station from your house? As the third brightest object in the sky, after the sun and moon, the space station is easy to see if you know where and when to look for it.
God, you're such a two-faced cat…

Keep coming back to Mr Avery's remix of Headman… pretty much record of the year so far – think it actually might have come out end of last year but who cares – for I… plus our lil ole interview with him and the Robertson of late went super good. What nice chaps!
Let's leave you with this…
Ta raaa…
