Single Review: The Black 80s – Give Me Something (Joe Goddard Mix)
Somehow, Joe Goddard has managed to situate this remix in the little known middle ground found between Defected Records and prog rock made by hairy, unemployable druids. So on the one hand you've got the silky soul vocals from The Black 80s, and on the other you've got these huge sweeping analogue pads that sound like Stone Henge is guesting on synth. It works in that you'd want to hear it played at sun rise at some imagined free party circa '91. If it was sold with a free time machine we'd be laughing.
