Single Review : Ilovemakonnen Ft Drake – Tuesday

Outside of having a vaguely punchable face, Drake ain't bad as pop stars go. He's had a knack over the years of picking up the cream of left field producers and lacing their beats with a few verses, without dicking up the original, and without robbing anyone in the process – perrenial thief Wil.I.Am should probably take note. Previous recipients of Drizzys emo rap king-making have included SBTRKT,  The Weeknd, Jai Paul and The xx – and now rising internet sensation Makonnen is getting the thumbs up. On 'Tuesday' – uploaded this morning, Drake duets with ILOVEMAKONNEN's raw, school yard singing and the result is wonky, soulful, and quite charming. This is likely the boost that the ATL based freak hop vocalist needs to gatecrash the mainstream, and we wouldn't be surprised if you heard a lot more of him from now on in….  Here's the original and the Drake remix for you completists out there:
