The synth lead in this is so well done, has a real breathy quality that triggers a real strong reaction, some empty nostalgic vibes… yet the swing and dynamics keep things light and open.

This track is proper wiggy ish, so many dueling elements – could so easily be a total mess yet everything tessellates beautiful, would love to hear this on a big system. That pitch bending can induce nausea.

What Morphosis does with an MS20 and 808 is unbelievable. This track is constantly unraveling yet maintains a kinda nerve burning stasis. Really liked his album from a couple years back and his curation of the Morphine label is great. Saw him at Labyrinth in 2011 with a small fortune’s worth of gear pretty much just noodling and pulling out some mind altering shiz. Crazy that he can get music that feels properly new out of highly codified sounds.

If we had to pick just one favourite DJ it’d probably be Vakula… and if we had to pick one favourite producer he’d certainly be in contention too. The guy is just a freak. His set at the recent Dekmantel night at Panorama Bar was a 10/10 and we’ve seen him teach Sydney a dancefloor lesson a couple times. The collection that ‘Exp Techno’ comes from is one of the year’s best, could’ve chosen any of the tracks from it.

A jam from Manchester. We’re real suckers for that sad-eyed-machine-junk-funk stuff. A little LFO on da pads, some overdriven bass n some tape feedback ‘n we in hevan!

100% wiggin’.

Perhaps one of the most furious techno tracks out there. Could’ve been released yesterday. Would cause serious damage in the right place at the right time.
