Having announced The Pixies last week Field Day now announce the first set of acts for Field Day Saturday 7th June including the mighty Metronomy as headliners.
Field Day welcome back to the main stage the melancholic electronic tones of Metronomy where Spring 2014 sees their highly awaited return with their brilliant new album ‘Love Letters’.
“I’m very, very excited (about playing Field Day). It’s the first time we’ve officially headlined a festival so it’s a big deal for us…It was a really, really nice experience last time so we are very much looking forward to it” Metronomy’s Joe Mount says.

?Metronomy will be joined by a line up which includes LA four piece Warpaint, who’s new, highly-anticipated self-titled album will be released in January. Also on board are Sky Ferreira, Detroit rapper Danny Brown, Melbourne’s The Temper Trap, Money, and South-Africa’s 1970s Lagos psych-funk meets chillwave and indie R&B band John Wizards.
Also confirmed are Syrian wedding-singer-turned-dance music-idol Omar Souleyman, 2013 Mercury prize nominee Jon Hopkins, Brooklyn-based electronic Oneohtrix Point Never, Hyperdub’s Jessy Lanza, and Hotflush/Aus regular George Fitzgerald, Daniel Avery and James Holden, who will be playing a live set. Seun Kuti, son of legendary Afrobeat inventor Fela Kuti will be performing alongside Fela’s Egypt 80.
There’ll also be a special b2b set from Innervisions’ founders Dixon & Ame (b2b) with more exclusive b2b sets being announced soon.
