Between The Lines
Who controls the news? Is the citizen journalism the future in the communication world? What are the boundaries in the current media landscape? To answer these and other questions, the Front Club Line and the Doc House have joined forces to organize a groundbreaking new festival next month. During the first weekend of March, Rich Mix Cinema will host “Between the lines”, an event that aims to explore the challenges facing documentary makers, investigative journalists and citizen reporters, in the converging digital world.
Three days full of powerful audiovisuals and interesting debates around the opportunities of Internet and new media. In order to discuss how the new technology has changed the way we document the world, the festival will be attended by professionals of the documentary and journalism worlds, such as prize-winning filmmakers Kevin Macdonald, Penny Woolcock and Kim Longinotto. “Between the lines” will also look at the corporate and political control of journalism and documentary, and its future.
Regarding the screening section, the audience can enjoy films such as “The Central Park Five”, “Last Call at the Oasis”, “We are legion: The story of the Hacktivists” and “The Ambassador”, among others.
If you are interested in the future of the documentary and the information field, don’t miss this unique weekend, from 1st to 3rd of March at Rich Mix Cinema. However, “Between the Lines” is more than just three days of films and discussion. A series of follow-up events will take place monthly throughout 2013. Discover more at the event's official website
