It’s been a busy 12 months since Basement Boogaloo first ventured down from Nottingham and brought their
East Midlands disco magic to the East End. In that time their guests at the Star have included Leo Zero, Yam
Who?, Wild Geese, Toby Tobias and Ray Mang not to mention Faze Action, Bill Brewster and Clause Four at
last year’s sell-out NYE party. They’ve also been lucky enough to host The Revenge and Pete Herbert in
Nottingham, and to witness a superb set by Red Rack’Em on their Garden Festival boat in Croatia over the
summer.
This New Year’s Eve they decided there was only one way to round off 2010: head back to their favourite
late-night rave pub for an extended party with one of Manchester’s finest, Trus’me.
It’s only been 4 years since the release of his first EP – the now classic Nards but given the rate at which his
stock has risen, you’d be forgiven for thinking that Trus’me had been around for much longer than that. With an
organic production style that often draws comparisons with the Detroit masters, his sound sits comfortably
between the classic funk, soul and disco which inspires it and the forward-thinking house music it has come to
embody. His albums Working Nights and In The Red may be the work of a serious musician, but Trus’me is also a
committed DJ with an ear for the underground and an eye for the dancefloor.
Hold tight for his Basement Boogaloo debut!

Basement Boogaloo began life beneath the streets of Nottingham and has developed into one of the city’s best-loved
parties. It’s got three simple ingredients: a dancefloor full of like-minded musical souls, a crystal-clear sound system
and some of the best DJ talent from across the disco galaxy. Over the past 6 plus years they’ve moved from Bar None
(a tiny basement bolthole) to the Maze (an intimate venue which perfectly suits our sweaty brand of hedonism) via
famed bank holiday all-dayers and NYE shakedowns in Notts, and appearances at the Electric Chair, the Garden
Festival and the Electric Elephant in Croatia. They also now make regular appearances in London at The Star of Bethnal
Green, the East End’s premier ravey boozer.
