Please introduce yourself…
Who are you, where are you and what are you
I have been a DJ, producer and musician for 13 years. Co-founder and current director of Playground Records, a label/party that is celebrating its 10th anniversary. I was born in Buenos Aires but I have lived in Barcelona for 7 years. I read comics, I take photos, I am fascinated by science fiction, I cannot live without coffee, I am a movie addict, a staunch companion of good wine, irony is my favourite rhetoric and I am incorrectly in love with marijuana.

What does your music sound like?
I think my music sounds like a new wave tribe playing in the middle of the Amazon Jungle.

Can you draw what you think it sounds like for us (an image from the old internet is acceptable)?

Where was the mix recorded?
It was recorded at a friend’s studio during my Mexico tour.

What would be the ideal setting to listen to the mix?
At night, in the middle of a forest, surrounded by trees and vegetation, looking at the stars in the sky and drinking a well-prepared mushroom tea.

What should we be wearing?
Nothing.

What would be your dream setting to record a mix: Location/system/format?
I think in a good audiophile bar in Tokyo, surrounded by tons of vinyl, a craft rotary mixer going through some handmade hi-fi speakers and of course 2 Technics 1200 MK II.

Which track in the mix is your current favourite?
I have to confess that I’m a huge fan of Sex Judas feat. Ricky so I would say the last song of the mix… ‘The Light You Saw Was Not for Real feat. Andreas Røysum (Original Mix)’

What’s your favourite recorded mix of all time?
Wow, this one is hard to answer. There are so many but as a tribute I could say Andrew Weatherall’s last performance at the Dekmantel festival before his death.

If you could go back to back with any DJ from throughout history, who would it be and why?
I don’t want to be obvious and say Andrew Weatherall again, so even though they’re not exactly from my main aka’s alley, I would choose Jeff Mills or Drexciya, because for me they are fucking DJ masters, their technique and energy are incredible.

What was your first DJ set up at home and what is it now?
If memory serves me correctly it was with 2 CDJj-200 + a Vestax mixer, now I have 2 XDJ 1000 MK II + Allen & Heath xone 92

What’s more important, the track you start on or the track you end on?
I love both!!! for me they are essential, I have special folders for both and I always try to surprise the audience with my selection.

What were the first and last records you bought?
To be honest, I don’t remember the first record I bought, I grew up in the days of cassettes and cds, at that time the rage for vinyl had not yet returned. But I remember what was the first record I got and it blew my mind, the brother of one of my friends gave me ‘After Chabón’ (an album from Argentinian 80’s post punk band leaded by an Italian… SUMO) when I was close to turning 14 and I was already smoking my first joints (yes, I started very early, I’m sorry, Mom). That day I got home and I listened to it quickly with my headphones, it captivated me right away, so I decided to turn one on 😉 turn off the lights in my room and put it at full volume on the speakers, without a doubt it was one of the musical experiences that I loved the most. I think it was there that I began to feel that my love for music was serious.

If this mix was an edible thing, what would it taste like?
Something exotic, smoky, a bit spicy, something handmade, imperfect but with character.

If it was an animal what would it be?
It could be a snake, for its lilting groove through the dark undergrowth.

One record in your collection that is impossible to mix into anything?
As much as it hurts me, I’d say “Mi Buenos Aires querido” by my dear Carlos Gardel

Continue celebrating Playground’s 10 years around the world (there are still Berlin, Madrid, Bucharest, Tel Aviv, Albania, Naples, Amsterdam and a few more to be confirmed).
Getting ready for a very eventful Off Sonar Week as we will be bringing Phantasy Sound with Red Axes and Erol Akan and Live At Robert Johnson with Roman Flügel, Lauer and Shubostar.
Finishing polishing the last details of my new project with my friend DELLA called Therapy Tuesday and waiting for the release of my new EP on the Mexican label DURO.
