Maple Death Records share the second single from new Bono / Burattini LP
Suono In Un Tempo Trasfigurato marks producer’s Francesca Bono and Vittoria Burattini’s debut release for Maple Death Records.
Under the guise of Bono / Burattini the pair have created a body of work inspired by three films from avantgarde cinematographer Maya Deren, namely At Land, Ritual in Transfigured Time and A study in Choreography for Camera.
Using these as reference points, Burattini crafts tense, hollow drum patterns that she pairs with Bono’s alien melodies, komische-influenced soundscapes and sparse, choral-esque vocals that ebb and flow throughout the LP.
Mixing organic and synthetic instrumentation, the pair craft a collection of otherworldly grooves, oddball wave and sci-fi-inspired electronics, calling to mind the work of bands and artists like Can, Gruppo Di Improvvisazione Nuova Consonanza and Suzanne Ciani.
Francesca Bono is a vocalist, performer, founder of Ofeliadorme and member of the Donnacirco collective, while Vittoria Burattini is a percussionist, multi-faceted drummer and member of influential Italian avant-rock band Massimo Volume.
Listen to ‘Sogno Nel Vigneto’.
Suono In Un Tempo Trasfigurato will be released on LP/Digital by Maple Death.
