Gimme A Break Records announce ‘Solidarity With Ukraine’ compilation
Leeds-based label Gimme A Break Records have announced ‘Solidarity With Ukraine’: a compilation to raise money for the music and cultural community in Ukraine.
The release features 18 producers from across the world who are making music that chimes with the label’s musical policy: breakbeat, UK garage, electro, techno, trance, dubstep and jungle.
There’s contributions from AK SPORTS, Nikki Nair, Kitsta, Justin Jay, Groovy D and many more, all of whom are coming together to raise money for this important cause.
Based in Leeds, Gimme A Break Records are a label looking to level the playing field and bring the sounds of their city to the masses. As well as being part of the wave or imprints championing the UKG and Breakbeat revival, they also work with designers and artists to visualise their releases and showcase Leeds’ industrial landscape.
All proceeds from sales will be donated to K14 Community Fund, a project initiated by the team at the Kyiv based cultural institution ∄ with the aim to provide financial, humanitarian and logistical support to the musical and cultural community that has been facing life-threatening challenges since the beginning of the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
