Times of Change: a playlist by TONE
A carefully curated playlist from South London musician Tone.
Tone is perhaps best known for his involvement in the infamous South London Curl collective alongside Mica Levi, Coby Sey and Brother May. He has far reaching musical influences and his name might also ring a bell from the punk-duo, Farai.
More recently he has been working on his own solo material – music which has helped to guide him through a reformation as he became a father. His new album was written during the pregnancy of his daughter and subsequently her birth.
As such he has chosen to curate a playlist based around the theme of change – be that lifestyle, identity, circumstances or otherwise.
He has picked music and visuals by friends and creatives who have influenced him over the year whilst demonstrating his extensive musical repertoire.
His album is out on the 4th of March and is titled ‘So I Can See You’.
My brother and collaborator Brother May, a force to be reckoned with. An incredible artist doing it his way, an inspiration and truly gifted. This video is made by a good friend and another amazing artist Akinola Davies Jr.
