Sally C, Heléna Star, Jyoty & more feature in second ‘Quarantune’ book

The second instalment in the Quarantune book series, ‘Quarantune 02: Last Entry 3am’, highlights global scenes within dance music, sharing the stories of over 50 artists from across the world.

As the world gradually begins to reopen, founder, DJ and journalist Niamh O’Connor marks this turning point by speaking to DJs and producers, including DEBONAIR, Heléna Star, Jyoty, Rebekah, Sally C, Kikelomo, NIKS, Stem and loads more, as well as featuring photographs from the likes of Alexander Petsavas, Chidera David Chukwujekwun, MeetDean, Niall Murphy, Pierre Nocca, Priscillia Amey, Rowan Allen.

Like the first edition, Niamh and her sister Aisling (who is behind the book’s graphic design), have put a particular focus on emerging talent in the hope that post-Covid, promoters will begin to look more local and support up-and-coming artists.

Speaing about the second iteration, Niamh explains: ‘I produced a second Quarantune book with Aisling — Quarantune designer-in-chief —  because I love discovering more about the people responsible for cultivating dance music and diverse scenes worldwide. I wanted to create a tangible glimpse of their work before I refresh and rename Quarantune later this year. The book is not only about showcasing multifaceted talents in music but also celebrating the photographers responsible for documenting these snapshots in time. We’re so thankful to everyone who contributed their art and helped get this project over the line.’

Quarantune was launched in March 2020 to celebrate dance music and club culture, before and during the pandemic, with the first book ‘Quarantune 01: Music, Memories & More’ released in December 2020.

50% of the profits from the book sales, of which there are 120 available, will be shared with Irish NGO, The SCOOP Foundation, who work with displaced youths in the Middle East and Ireland.
