Joy Orbison, Anz & Sons of Kemet among new names added to We Out Here Festival line up

We Out Here Festival have announced new names for their second edition, taking place between 19-22 August in Abbots Ripton, Cambridge.

Today, they have revealed more than 100 artists, collectives and partners who’ll be joining them across the weekend. The live programme sees the likes of Sons Of Kemet, Kokoroko and Nubiyan Twist being joined by London jazz staples Ezra Collective, Moses Boyd, Emma Jean Thackray, and Steam Down Orchestra.

Saxophonist Nubya Garcia, rappers Lex Amor and Goya Gumbani will also head up a series of solo sessions, while singer-songwriter Puma Blue performs his newly released debut album In Praise Of Shadows. Elsewhere, there will be live electronic performances from producer Leon Vynehall, who will perform his highly anticipated forthcoming album Rare, Forever, and DnB mainstay dBridge will present a UK premiere of his show Black Electric LIVE.

The DJ line up has expanded too, welcoming the likes of Floating Points, Rhythm Section label boss Bradley Zero, Radio 1Xtra’s Benji B and NTS selector Shanti Celeste. Radio 1 residents Joy Orbison and Anz will also play across the weekend, alongside Shy One, Eliza Rose, Donna Leake and Zakia. Continuing to honour the roots of club culture, WOH brings together DMZ crew members Mala and Loefah, Idjut Boys, Calibre, Trip-hop duo Kruder & Dorfmeister and many more to join the billing.

We out Here Festival is brought to you by broadcaster and DJ Gilles Peterson, co-curated with his label Brownswood and radio station Worldwide FM. A festival for everyone, the weekend celebrates both long loved heroes and new, exciting talent.

For a preview of what to expect in August, We Out Here will be curating a monthly digital event series of live performances, panel talks, DJ sets, and special radio-takeovers, kicking off on Friday 5 March with Ashley Henry, Onipa, Channel One, and Colleen “Cosmo” Murphy.
