Premiere: Steve Pepe – Il Diavolo (Eva Geist Remix)

When it came to making big decisions, he always sat on the fence. He preferred to play it safe and not upset the apple cart, but sometimes that backfired. Those around him urged him to take risks, to occasionally listen to the devil on his shoulder but politeness always reared its head. 

In September, Inside Out Records welcomed Hivern Discs alumni Steve Pepe to the family for his off kilter LP Vivere in Diagonale. As a follow up to the release the label has enlisted a host of producers to put their own spin on several of the tracks off the release, bringing their own unique textures and flavours to the table. Reinterpretations come via label mates Stevie R and Parisinos, Salon des Amateurs mainstay Tolouse low Trax, Ninja Tune producer Lamusa II, Huntleys + Palmers affiliate nICo and Macadam Mambo & fellow Hivern Discs collaborator Eva Geist who delivers an acoustic, nostalgic rework of ‘Il Diavolo’.
