Donato Dozzy, Neel and Refracted feature on new IDO ambient series
IDO boss Valentino Mora has announced a new ambient series titled Transcendental Movements, marking the first full-length compilation on the label.
Set for release on 3rd August, the 10-track release features meditative contributions from Konduku, Donato Dozzy, Lanoche, Neel, Refracted, Varuna, Marow, Olaf Tonstein and Ligovskoï who contributes both a solo track and a collaboration with Valentino too.
Having spent a large chunk of his life searching for tools to relieve anxiety, Valentino spent the last three years researching the concept of active meditation. This differs to regular stationary meditation, instead one focuses on sound whilst in motion, the goal being to transcend one’s awareness of motion to become absorbed entirely into the sound.
Through this series of ambient releases, Valentino seeks to share this process which has the potential to ease anxiety as all conscious thought is alleviated through concentrated focus on music. After discovering Marow and Olaf Tonstein’s music, he knew it chimed with this concept and from there he reached out to other artists that he felt could relate to the idea, asking them to contribute a track in response to the concept.
