Stenny, Nazira & DEBONAIR set to play Club Quarantäne’s 36 hour virtual stream

Art & Culture

Virtual night club Club Quarantäne returns for its next edition which takes place over 36 hours kicking off at 22:00 BST on Friday 26th January.

Spawned by the Covid-19 measures, the digital club created, by world-leading developers, seeks to unite the music community and offers a new format for clubbing on a global scale post lockdown. All donations made during the stream will be donated to The Centre for Black Equality.

Among the artists confirmed are Brooklyn based twin sister duo Analog Soul; fellow Brooklynite Aurora Halal; Innervisions boss Dixon; Bristol techno heavyweight Hodge; fast-rising techno artist IMOGEN; Kazakhstani DJ/promoter Nazira; Ilian Tape’s Stenny and a B2B from The Netherlands’ Upsammy and De School resident Oceanic.

Following the postponement of the third edition out of respect to the deaths of George Floyd, Ahmaud Arbery, Breonna Taylor and the Black Lives Matter movement, Club Quarantäne is currently under the curatorship of Underground & Black’s Ash Lauryn, who is using the space to draw attention to black artists, art and culture.

Ash Lauryn explains: “I chose these pieces for anyone who would like to dig a little deeper into the black experience from our perspective – the good, the bad, and the uncomfortable. One of the most beautiful things about black art in my opinion is that even through the struggle we continue to create; we continue to rise. Black art isn’t simply here for the sake of consumption, it is actually rooted in much more than that, and I would advise those that simply consume without understanding to take a serious look at the information provided.”

The stream will run from 22.00 BST on Friday 26th June to 12.00 BST on Sunday 28th June. Tune in HERE
