John Loveless launches new digital imprint Hot Concept

Berlin-based DJ and writer John Loveless has launched a new digital label, Hot Concept, with an inaugural release from Beigean. 

The EP sees the Tava Discs head deliver four British-Asian takes on house, EBM and disco, with clever samples sourced from the dusty record collection he inherited from his father. Through reimagining their history, from Chicago to Mumbai, he creates something entirely fresh, from the choppy sample work and jacking beats of title track 'Dushman' to the traditional guitar and driving bassline of 'Dekha'.

Beigean launched his Tava Discs imprint last year with Baat, which promptly sold out after gaining support from the likes of Erol Alkan and Ben Sims. His other production efforts have found a home on Hungarian Hot Wax.

Hot Concept the label is an extension of John Loveless' parties of the same name which, since beginning in 2018, have hosted underground UK DJs including Annabel Fraser, Kiss Me Again and Ribeka. His 'Display Resolution' show on Cashmere Radio has welcomed guests including Fred P, Josh Cheon and Natural Sciences, as well as hosting live performances.
