Munk and Kapote rework rare German Punk and Disco on new compilation
The Toy Tonics label bosses are set to release an eight track album on their own imprint which see's them reimagine and edit rare music recorded in the late 70's and early 80's from Germany. Titled "Teutonik Disaster" the release features music from the likes of Die Chefs, Carmen, Explorer, Camilla Motor and more. The ethos behind the compilation is to explore unchartered territory in terms of focussing on music not previously edited and rebuilt for the club or dancefloor in the present day. Some of the tracks released on the compilation previously featured on a Gomma Records compilation in which Mathias Munk Modica was involved alongside James Murphy, WhoMadeWho and Asia Argento. The tracks have since been extended and rebuilt with a focus towards the intricacies towards modern day dance music.
The release will be available on the 15th of March later this year, listen back to a mix recorded by Munk for Ransom Note HERE.
