Across Europe a new wave of techno has emerged, vocalised by champions of the modern day surge and through pivotal figures in the growth and development of the genre. Antigone is a key figure within the scene at present, The French producer has established a niche having released some of the most interesting and dynamic records in techno over the past seven years. He has delivered EP's for the likes of French labels such as Construct Re-Form, Concrete and Children Of Tomorrow. However, his reach has since surpassed locality and he has set a keen precedent as one of the leading figures in present techno and his more recent material, including his debut LP, has been released on the acclaimed Token imprint run by Kr!z from Belgium. His upcoming appearances include a show with Afterlife at Printworks this weekend and a key date at Berlin's Berghain on the 1st of December next month.

    Eleven minutes of a perfect loop. There is so much emotion in Shinichi Atobe’s music . Funny fact is that I recently did a kind of remix/edit with some small parts from a Nelly Furtado vocal from “say it right” and “on top” It works so well !

  • Arvo Pärt, Cantus In Memoriam Benjamin Britten

    I guess this is my biggest influence in music. It’s just a simple repetition of a single melodic motif with so much intensity .

  • My Favorite Things - John Coltrane

    The funny thing is that I have always the same nostalgia and smell of my childhood that comes back when I put this back on my turntable.
    Sometimes music has this power to bring you back to a place and live it back again and again .

    My friend Didier from Syncrophone, my favourite record shop in Paris, helped me discover this track a few years ago and I guess it had a major impact on my music afterwards .

    The kind of track I usually open with when I do a warm up or all night longs . I always try to make the vibe in a club as as cosy as possible then I build up with some more hard stuff across the night .
