Manchester’s The Refuge To Celebrate Easter Weekend With An Array Of Music And Art Events

DJ-turned-restaurateurs Luke Cowdrey and Justin Crawford's elegant Manchester restaurant The Refuge has announced a weekend of events and collaborations for this year’s Easter bank holiday. Dr. Sid Honey Cooler commences proceedings on Thursday 29th of March in the public bar, with a set encompassing blues, calypso, R&B and various uncategorisable oddities from a record collection 40+ years in the making. 

On Friday 30th, the basement will host a record fair featuring stalls by Ruf Dug and Randy Brunso's Hi-Tackle record emporium, Beatin' Rhythm, and yours truly at Ransom Note. There will also be a special 'Charity Shop Stall' flogging records donated by Mr. Scruff, Unabombers, Justin Robertson and more, all for £1. 

On Saturday 31st, The Refuge will host 'A Love From Outerspace', a ticketed event featuring Andrew Weatherall and Sean Johnson. Finally, Bluedot Festival are invited to curate Sunday 1st April. As the UK's only festival of science, art and music, Bluedot will provide a wide array of entertainment for children, a 'Sounds From Space' Q&A led by Tim O Brien, Associate Director of Jodrell Bank Centre for Astrophysics who will then takeover the decks in the bar, followed by Richard Norris, who works as one half of highly influential duo Beyond The Wizard's Sleeve alongside Erol Alkan.
