Everyone loves Norway. What's not to love really? Sunshine in the summer, snow in the winter, great people, great music, Norway is the best.
This weekend the Doc'n Roll film festival touches down in London town. The highlight may well quite possibly be the feature presentation of a film titled "Northern Disco Lights: The Rise and Rise of Norwegian Dance Music". This instantly sparked our interest over here at Ransom Note who have long since been following the spectacular output of Scandinavian musicians from far and wide. Over the years a great number of artists have emerged out of Norway: from the Sex tags crew through to Todd Terje, Prins Thomas & Lindstrom, from Telephones to Bjorn Torske and Svek Records, Norway punches above its expected weight. We caught up with the festival to talk eight tracks of Norwegian gold…

Mental Overdrive and Biosphere started the whole ball rolling in the late 80s and early 90s and without them the scene would be very different. At the end of all the interviews we asked who their favourite producers were and about half of them said Biosphere. When the bass comes in on this on a big cinema rig…WALLOP!
