Guest Editor’s Special Guest #2 – A Belgian Walk Under A Showering Rain By Nosedrip
EDITOR'S NOTE: I only met Nosedrip or Ziggy as I know him, very briefly, but "people" will tell you that Ghent , and the shop he works in, Musicmania, is THE place. I have a special bond with Belgian music, may be because it's an endless well, because of my flemish origins., because of other things too I thought I w was pretty good until I met those guys.
Hence my heart rests somewhere between Ostende and London. Ziggy, Regis, Koenie, Geoffroy and many more have been the best guides over the years. Respect is due, wet love is a bonus. A playlist close to my sappy heart.
NOSEDRIP: I like to look at the most beautiful musical heritage of my country (Belgium) as an invisible (wo)man singing in the shower when nobody is l be around. The shower is a metaphor for endless rain, constant trouble with other human beings and not having perspective nor ambition. The (wo)man is a metaphor for an interesting person/group floating in isolation, in a space limited by flattening mirrors, fluorescent lamps and indefinitely nothing else… So so bad, so so good.
“I always told you Sam was a loser”… Fantastic pre-internet (still excisting) band with it’s heart in Huy and it’s musicians from the UK, Italy & Morocco…
