Small wonder I’m such a mamas boy, the first good music i ever heard was all from my moms record collection. I grew up with easy access to stuff like Fugs, Zappa, Talking Heads, Eurythmics, Miles, Dr. John, Hendrix, Wild Man Fischer. Dont get me started on the bookshelf, a nine year old probably should not know who Henry Chinaski is.

Then, the first music record moms gave me was Grand Master Flash – The Message. Flip that over and you’ll find one of the dirtiest electro jams ever.. Aaaaah, Scorpio. The sound of that thing was, and is, completely electrifying, and I’d end up wasting.. spending many years producing electro tracks, some of em coming out sooner or later on brave detroit label 7777.

Putting out my record on Viewlexx is actually the least thing boss Ferenc A.K.A I-F has done for me musically. The influence of I-F’s Cybernetic Broadcasting System on my own sound, general love of music and deep friend circle is in lack of other word, unfathomable.

I should not even put this shit in here! I play it every chance I get, I used it in almost every mix and even sampled part of it in my own tracks. Polarius is ofcourse a segway to Danny Wolfers aka Legowelt, It would be silly for me to even try to introduce him. Danny basically invented a entire sound that has been copied by everyone and their mother, very much including myself.. Also one of the first who wanted to put out my stuff on now defunct Strange Life Records. In fact, this Scarface OST cover will be released on a Flexi disc on Beyond The Speaker shortly.

I booked Luke for a party back in the mid 00’s, and as you do, we started yammering about music and such. Luke is a great stylist who always had solid philosophy on production, especially influencial regarding how to harvest entropy, or in a less pretentious way to say it; how to optimize for lucky mistakes. Furthermore he talked me into getting my first analog synth, the SH-101.

What can I say, It was actually Pony EP that got me thinking about distortion as means to lush out strings or boost emotional melodies. No use in denying it, and Pony EP is still premier for clearing your sinuses to.

DAF is one of the few bands that made it from slumming around in the local EBM scene in the early 90s, a scene very much focused on drinking beer and baltering. When the smoke cleared, DAF was still standing strong. Most things with DAF is great, from the crunchy basslines to the real drums to the ungodly hornyness to the Conny Plank production. Since almost all DAF tracks are blocked on youtube, I’ll just go ahead and post Brothers instead of Liebe auf den ersten Blick.
