Bee Symphony ‘One’ Coming To Nottingham

'One' = 40,000 bees + 12 musicians.

Award-winning British artist Wolfgang Buttress was in charge of the British Pavilion at this year's Milan Expo. His installation cast the pavilion as a beehive, highlighting the plight of the honeybee and focusing on pollination.

Rivertones is releasing the installation's soundtrack as 'One' on February 12th. Described as "the sound of a dialogue between bee and human", it was recorded by Kev Bales and Tony Foster along with Jason Pierce of Spiritualized, Youth, cellist Deidre Bencsik, vocalist Camille Buttress and the Amiina string section.

Now, at a pair of performances at Nottingham Arts Centre in February, Wolfgang will recreate 'One' in full 7.2 sound with a special stage installation. We're promised "a mixture of art, nature and meditative drone music."
