Cavern Of Anti-Matter To Release Debut Album In February
Cavern Of Anti-Matter is the new side project of Stereolab mainman Tim Gane, together with original Stereolab drummer Joe Dilworth and synth maestro Holger Zapf.
Forget splitting the atom – COAM are all about "setting up tiny rhythmic cells and expanding on them in certain ways, splitting the melody and stretching out", explains self-confessed "spectrum addict" Gane. Damned if I know what he means, but I'm eager to find out.
For their debut album – 'void beats / invocation trex' – the group have lined up an impressive list of collaborators. Bradford Cox (Deerhunter) and Sonic Boom (Spacemen 3) are on guest vocal duties, while Jan St. Werner of Mouse On Mars is credited as "sound processing".
