Field Day Is Turning 10
Thank god for US district judge George H King. Before his ruling in September, Warner Music were (remarkably) still collecting royalties on "Happy Birthday to You". To the tune of $2m a year.
Now that the song is in the public domain, R$N can wish Field Day a happy 10th birthday without having to worry about a team of lawyers kicking down our new front door!
You'll just have to imagine us singing in the office. We're doing it, honest.
2016 will see the tenth edition of Field Day. And after a decade of great lineups, they've earned a bit of a trip down memory lane. Check out this great video of highlights from the first ever Field Day in 2007, featuring live performances and interviews with Four Tet, Caribou (how young does Dan Snaith look?!), Battles, Justice and many more.
Stay tuned for more nostalgia rushes over the next few weeks. Field Day 2016 takes place Sat 11 June & Sun 12 June. Early bird tickets are already on sale here.
Join in the build up to the Field Day 2016 lineup announcement on Facebook and Twitter.
