Stream Salute’s New Collaboration With Awful Records’ Abra
Having been big fans of salute's recent single Castle (reviewed here) we were really pleased to hear the Brighton based producer had collaborated with ABRA, the first lady of Awful Records. ABRA bought out Roses a few months back, and it's combination of 80s funk, lo-fi house and RnB yearning has made it a string contender for album of the year; it makes perfect sense to see her teaming up with a UK producer who's pushing out a sweetly warped mix of grime & RnB of his very own. Together they've come up with a lush piece of electronic soul – Salute's strings are thick slabs of emotion, ABRA's voice floats over his production with typical languour, before climbing to Minnie Ripperton-esque heights, and occasional flurries of drum keep this firmly looking to the future. The track is drawn from salute's forthcoming Gold Rush EP, due November 6th, check him on Soundcloud for more goodness…
