Grant – 8 Tracks That Made Me Fall In Love…

Anonymity is a dish best served by gloved hands, as to not reveal even the slightest detail of the provider. That's exactly the sort of attitude taken by the mysterious Grant as his or her identity remains to be a secret held so close to the chests of those in the know that it wouldn't be completely unexpected if the secret were to be handed a restraining order. While we can't tell you much about this illusive music-maker, they have at least given us the time to provide us with 8 tracks that made them fall in love with creative sample use and the mpc for us to peruse and get an idea of some of the sounds that have shaped their ears.   • Group Home - Livin' Proof

    Not much to say except that this track is part of one of my favourite albums of all time, every track on this LP is a winner so it was hard to only pick one for this list.

  • Gang Starr - Code Of The Streets

    Classic album by Gang Starr and the hypnotic sample of Monk Higgins just keeps you locked in.

  • Digable Planets - Jimmi Diggin Cats

    This is also a contender for my top favourite album. Again, you can listen to this Lp from start to finish no fillers. The chords by Kool & Gang are sampled to perfection, so smooth.

  • Raekwon - Sneakers

    One of the members of the Wu Tang Clan goes solo and delivers this monster track. He samples that piano line by Jimmy Stewart, perfect hook!!!
