Morricone In Love

Art & Culture

Famous for his scores for Spaghetti Westerns such as 'The Good, The Bad and The Ugly' and 'Once Upon A Time In America' , Ennio Morricone also produced a number of soundtracks for late sixties 'Giallo' movies, or Italian Eroctic Thrillers to you and me. A mash-up of these films, accompanied by live music from F'eatre, is the Valentine's Day entertainment this year at Rich Mix. Differing from the mariachi horns of his other work, with these films, Morricone's scores encompassed everything from psychedelic longue to hypnotic jazz rhythms, bossa beats, soaring soprano and avant garde expressionism.

The event takes place on Valentine's Day (Feb 14th 2012). Tickets are £14adv/£16 door. For more info on the nights proceedings check the Rich Mix site.

F’eatre are the extraordinarily talented Fiona Staniland [Je t’aime Serge Gainsbourg, Darlene Mietrich] (producer, chanteuse), Nick Ramm [Cinematic Orchestra, Fire Collective ] (musical arrangements, keyboards), Alex Keen(basses) Jon Scott (drums), Jon Gingell (guitars) and Gerry Hunt (clarinet, flute, sax, trumpet). More info on the groups goings-on, including other events they are involved in, can be found here.
