John Lydon's Public Image are to return with a new album this September. Titled, typically spikily, What The World Needs Now…, the 11-track album follows 2012’s This is PiL, the band’s first album in 17 years. Expectations are fairly high – the current PiL line up has a strong punk pedigree, with Lydon joined by guitarist Lu Edmonds (The Damned), drummer Bruce Smith (The Pop Group) and bass player Scott Firth (Elvis Costello).
No music has been released as yet, just news that the first single, 'Double Trouble', is set for release on August 21st, as a limited 10", featuring b sides 'Bettie Page' and non album track 'Turkey Tits'. The album tracklist is as follows:
1. Double Trouble
2. Know Now
3. Bettie Page
4. C’est La Vie
5. Spice of Choice
6. The One
7. Big Blue Sky
8. Whole Life Time
9. I’m Not Satisfied
10. Corporate
11. Shoom
What The World Needs Now… is set for release on September 4th, followed by a 23 date European tour, with the band playing across the UK, then heading out into Europe –
