Martin Scorsese – Masterpieces Of Polish Cinema Uk Tour
For the next two months BFI Southbank and Filmhouse Edinburgh will be playing host to 'Martin Scorsese's Masterpieces Of Polish Cinema' as part of the 13th Kinoteka Polish Film Festival. The series is the largest celebration of Polish film in the UK and will continue to play across UK cinemas until September.
Scorsese hand-picked the 24 masterpieces that feature throughout the festival including works from film-makers Andrzej Wajda, Krzysztof Zanussi, Andrzej Munk, Jerzy Kawalerowicz, Wojciech J Has, Roman Polański, Krzysztof Kieślowski, Agnieszka Holland plus many more. A couple of titles to catch in the series include 'Night Train, Man Of Iron, To Kill This Love, The Hourglass Sanatorium and Eroica.
To compliment the film season at BFI Southbank, an exhibition featuring the original posters from 'Andrzej Wajda’s Films In International Film' is operating along side the series and includes works from Japan, France, Germany and Argentina.
