Happy Skull Bring New 3 Tracker Of Aphex-Esque Techno
The first Happy Skull release of 2015 sees the label pursuing their aim of “raw machine music with colour, melody, and soul” with some style. UK based producer Creta Kano has delivered 3 tracks of fractured rhythms and retro-futurist melodies, treading a route between the electro funk of early Detroit, and the introspective dancefloor bombs Aphex Twin was knocking out in the 90s. There's a yearning, emotive quality running through the EP, the tracks reaching for the glow of long forgotten highs and producing a bittersweet nostalgia in the process.
