Dems Aim For James Blake & Kevin Shields Comparisons
Dems are a South London (read: art school) 3 piece who have been picking up a fair bit of hype in their short existence. They've recently announced that debut album 'Muscle Memory' will be released through Sew In Love records on November 3rd, and whilst we weren't overly blown away by the first track uploaded from the album (the slightly white bread Lioness, which you can stream here), new track 'Sense Of An Ending' is far more interesting. Accompanied by a suitably obscure video, 'Sense of an Ending' benefits from off-setting vocalist Dan Moss's James Blake-ish sensitive vocals with really, REALLY loud instrumentation – the electronics are cranked up to creaking, whilst the string section hammers away in thundering melodramatic crescendos. It seems like this lot could go either way – they are describing their album as 'hopeful darkness' – let's wait and see…
